match-worn authentication NFC digital authentication football shirts

Fabricks is a Premium-tier authenticator of match-worn football shirts using embedded NFC technology, launched in 2024 as the sister company of MatchWornShirt and based in Amsterdam. Each item carries an NFC chip that serves as its certificate of authenticity, read by tapping a smartphone to the shirt itself.

How Fabricks authenticates

Fabricks authenticates by embedding a tamper-proof NFC chip in the shirt at source rather than issuing a paper certificate. The chip holds a digital certificate of authenticity plus exclusive detail on the item, the athlete and the event. Founded by Tijmen Zonderwijk and built on MatchWornShirt's match-worn supply, Fabricks took the technology onto the pitch in April 2024 with PSV Eindhoven, the first football club to carry the chip on the exterior of shirts worn during matches.

What you receive and how to verify it

Independent verification is the point, and with Fabricks it is physical: a collector taps an NFC-enabled smartphone to the chip embedded in the shirt and the digital certificate opens directly, with the item, athlete and event details, no need to take Walkouts' word for it. Because the chip is tamper-proof and bound to that specific shirt, the certificate cannot be detached from the item it certifies.

Why this matters for collectors

For a collector, Fabricks' value is a certificate that lives on the shirt and cannot be lost, swapped or forged separately from it, verifiable by anyone holding the item with nothing more than a phone. It is the strongest fit for match-worn pieces, where tying the proof physically to the exact shirt matters most. Walkouts uses Fabricks as a premium route for NFC-authenticated match-worn football shirts.
