Tian Nai Koren, Club Brugge and Slovenia | Walkouts

Tian Nai Koren is the youngest player ever to represent Slovenia. He made his senior international debut on 4 June 2026 in a 1-1 draw with Cyprus, aged 16 years and 308 days, and took the record from Benjamin Šeško by 423 days. Walkouts records his career from that starting point.

Koren was born on 31 July 2009 in Slovenj Gradec. Football runs through the family. His father, Robert Koren, captained the Slovenia national team, and his older brother, Nal Lan Koren, is also a footballer.

He started playing at Dravograd in 2016, aged seven, and joined the academy of Maribor in 2022. In 2025 he moved to Belgium and the academy of Club Brugge, and ahead of the 2025-26 season he was promoted to Club NXT, the club's reserve team in the Challenger Pro League.

Club NXT gave him his first senior football. He played 22 league matches for them in 2025-26 and scored 1 goal. In 2026-27 he stepped up to the Club Brugge first team with the number 85. He came on in the 88th minute of the 2026 Belgian Super Cup against Union Saint-Gilloise on 31 July 2026, a 1-1 draw that Union won 5-4 on penalties. By 20 September 2026 he had played 3 matches in the Belgian Pro League.

He has also played for Slovenia at under-15, under-16, under-17 and under-19 level. For the under-17 side he scored 10 goals in 14 matches, including qualification for the 2025 UEFA European Under-17 Championship in October 2024. He plays as a midfielder.

Walkouts holds a signed Club Brugge shirt with his number 85 from the 2026-27 season, his first in the Pro League. The record above is deliberately brief, because at seventeen his first-team career is still counted in weeks.
